We found a cake topper in Chicago last weekend that I liked but Austin didn't. I liked it because of the people on top and was able to see past the ugly. It was around the foo-foo level of this one:

I ripped off all the fluff, put together some oak leaves and the pearl-pinned little white flowers we're using all over, and came up with this little number:

I think it turned out quite well. I mixed model paint to get the color of Austin's hair, since the first thing he said about the original topper was "but I don't have brown hair." I told him I'd just have to find another groom then. Repainting was a little easier in the long run. Except for a second-degree burn with the glue gun, this is a project that went pretty well.
