Reading too much into tea leaves

Austin's still sick, so on the phone yesterday he was telling me about his day.

A: I made tea today with your leftover peach stuff.
J: Oh, good! How'd you like it?
A: Well, I think I made it wrong. The water didn't get hot enough so it just tasted like warm water. Other than that it was good.
J: I'm sorry.
A: I know. I was wishing you were here to make it for me because you know how to make good tea.

At which point I proceeded to give him some tea pointers. Of all the months we've spent apart, I think we've handled it pretty well. Even all of the wedding planning doesn't matter too much, but that was definitely the worst. Knowing he's sick and has to take care of himself is not a nice feeling. I told him to pretend I was brushing his hair off his forehead and feeling his face, but it's still not the same. rrgh.

It was really his wistful little "you know how to make good tea" that got to me. Somehow I feel like that's the best compliment I've gotten in years.

I'm taking good care of myself... since I got a haircut last week it's gotten a lot easier to brush the hair off of my face. ;-)

Hey... didn't you mention something about posting in your own blog? :-P
