Guard Dog

I was napping on the couch last night when the dog went into "hunt" mode. She was staring at a point up on the wall very intently so I turned around and saw a HORNET! The bug drifted down enough that the dog thought she could catch it and started jumping and squeezing her head through the gaps in the furniture and the wall. Austin saved us both but I think it was funny she was so intent on defending her turf.

Work has been busy for the last two months and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. It's good work and makes you feel productive but morale is low and it does drain you after a while. I told Austin I feel like a lumberjack running on a log and am just managing to keep it rolling. Last week I flew to Ohio for a day-trip for business and ended up getting stranded overnight due to weather. No suitcase, no toothbrush, no nothing. I lost almost an entire day and felt like I landed butt-first into the lake. Four days later I finally feel like I've managed to claw my way back onto the log but I'm still a ways from getting it moving again. Meh.
