Problems in Puppyland

The dog's had the squirts on and off for the last four days, so we've made another appointment with the vet this afternoon. She's happy and frisky and adorable and running about but keeps having intermittent problems. It's like playing Nancy Drew and the Case of the Anal Leakage but we're finally throwing in the (poop-covered) towel. Her food is the same, the treats we give her are actually just one of her regular food nuggets, she's drinking water, we keep her out of the bark and other misc things she likes to chew on outside, but she keeps having this problem. I think it's stress-based, since we took her walking in downtown Grayslake Saturday and she was scared and freaked out. Still, better safe than sorry when she's this little.

She's gotten much more into chewing and play-fighting. We had to get her a new toy (because she shat all over the old one and I couldn't clean it up). This one is an octopus with a tennis ball in the head. It achieves great loft when she shakes it and flings it. If she's feeling frisky while you're petting her she'll open her mouth wide and, if you don't pull your hand away, try to catch it in her mouth. I thought most puppies would try to rip your fingers off while they were play-biting, but she closes her jaws just enough to say "See? I got you. I win!" Chewing on sweaters or shoelaces or the carpet is another matter entirely. That's business.

"shat"...That's a great word you don't see too often.

That's the pluperfect tense. She is much too refined to use the infinitive form. Hope puppykins can keep it all together soon.
