piddling nothings

There's nothing really exciting going on, just a bunch of little things. We're getting an intern here at work on Monday so I moved out of my office up front and back into an office in the maintenance shop. The idea is to keep her up front by the senior engineer, her mentor. The guys back here are hilarious, and I don't mind moving at all. There's not many day staffers, I've always felt isolated up front with the few others up there.

We had a new set of employee pictures taken today, work decided to have an actual firm come in for all the A/V stuff now instead of Joe-Bob with the crappy digital camera. Mine ended up looking like something from Glamour Shots, I've had incredibly good luck with pictures lately. I think it's due in no small part to people dorking around behind the camera, so I'm smiling for real instead of the "oh god, it's going to hurt, isn't it?" grimace most people do for the camera.

I moved my computer and subwoofer speakers out here in the new office and they've decided I either listen to drug music, or music that makes you want to take drugs to make it stop. I've got half a mind to borrow Dad's bagpipe CD and BLAST it just to see what they'd do. They're all delighted with the signed, autographed picture of Norm Abram I've hung up on the bulletin board. Austin and I are incredibly excited someone bought us the camping stove and some propane. Really folks, if you want to make us happy get some of the weird stuff of the Sears registry. That stuff is so much more exciting than the flatware.
