So, just to keep you up to speed, Janine and I are now in California. Just got in this morning. The airports were a complete zoo, but we got on our flight without any issues and arrived on-time.
Our itinerary is pretty open over the next few days. Meeting Orshi and friends for lunch tomorrow, family dinners abound, and then we head up to Fairfield and Lake Tahoe to enjoy the last half of our vacation with friends and family.
I've been following the forecast for Lake Tahoe closely over the last week, and - while conditions have been improving - the snow just doesn't look impressive. They could have used the dumping Denver received this week (3'-5', for those of you keeping score at home), but instead have gotten small spurts of 6"-8". Rain was in the forecast, but that may hopefully change over to snow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some nice powder!
Gotta run... Merry Christmas to all!!
We're back home, safe n' sound. London was awesome... only good stories to tell of tea, cask ales, mincemeat (contains no meat), mince (contains meat), food, walking, more ale, more tea, and more walking.
It's 9pm Chicago time... which means our internal clocks are set somewhere between now and 3am. I think it's time to hit the sack before I fall asleep at the keybjklzßi8u88888888888888888888888888888888888888............
As many of you may have noticed, my comments section sucks. If you've tried posting a comment recently, you're probably gotten some sort of 'I'm monitoring comments and will approve it soon' form letter. For some reason, though, the comment is never posted.
The deal is that I don't get any notification on comments, primarily because of the 20-40 spam comments posted on the site every day. Your comments basically has been lost in the sea of 18000 comments flagged as 'junk'.
Well, today, I did a little something to try and relieve the issue. It turns out that there were 5-6 blog entries with a majority of the spam... so I just stopped all comments on those major violators. Hopefully this will help me be able to find real comments among the 'junk' pile and be able to post them for reals.
I know Winter is normally cold, but single-digit temps are just an insult.
Back from vacation for a while now. It was a great trip full of walking, knitting stores, awesome food, and a great Canadiens hockey game. If you haven't noticed already, I've loaded some pics onto Flickr for your viewing enjoyment.
Janine's wrapping up her first term of MBA classes this week with two finals. LUCK!!!!!
It was 8 Degrees Farenheit this morning. Is it allowed to be that cold?
We have a Christmas tree. It's purdy. I'll post pictures later.
We're going to visit my sister next week... in London. We don't know exactly what we'll do, but I'm sure walking, eating, and beer will be 3 main ingredients.
