Wahoo!

Time to go on vacation... something both of us dearly deserve but don't take advantage of nearly enough. The destination for this extended weekend: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

While we're up in the Great White North, we'll be spending most of our time just tooling around the city and not really having much of an itinerary. The only thing we have scheduled is a Canadiens hockey game on Saturday night, but the rest is completely unplanned. I've spoken with a few people (one Canadian, even) and surfed around a little for ideas of things to do - Underground City, Mont Royal, St. Catherine Street, Latin Quarter, China Town... We'll have 4 days to do whatever we want!

Janine's looking forward to the poutine.

Rockin' All Night Long

I spent a lot a majority all of last night playing Guitar Hero 2, and I have to say that it didn't disappoint.

There are a lot of songs and bands that I've never heard of, and you can tell this time around that most of the songs are covers, but overall the new music selections were all good choices for the game.

The developers did a very good job of not touching things that worked, and adding small tweaks and improvements very tastefully. The best addition to the game is the "Encore," where you literally play an encore after beating each of the 8 levels in the game. You don't know the song until just before you play it, but those songs were probably the best selections.

The final Encore song of the game? Freebird! Priceless.

P.O.S.

My work laptop used to be nice and would warn me if my battery was running low. Now it just starts running a little slower, then locks, and then completely shuts down. No sleep... No hibernation... just a complete power-down. How rude is that?!

Good thing I'm up for a new computer next month. :-)

Who are you?

Janine and I haven't seen much of each other over the past month. Between work, school, and hockey, we're both pretty busy.

The past month has been especially hard on Neener with a HUGE installation project at work. We're talking 7-figures and 24/7 work over 4 weeks. Janine's already worked 7-days a week since October 9th, and she still has another week to go.

The good news is that the project is a few days ahead of schedule and almost complete, and Janine's still standing and finishing her homework. Oh, and Janine's also figured out where to go when you need lunch at 3am in Racine. That's a skill that'll get you far these days!

How am I passing the time, you ask? Well, thanks to the NHL Center Ice package I got through cable, I'm managing to keep myself occupied just fine, thankyouverymuch. :-)

Woo, mate!

So it's official. The tickets are booked. The flights arranged. The trip deposit is in. We're going to Australia!

...in September 2007. I know it's 10 months away, but I'm still gitty!
