So Neener and I were in California this past weekend, back home with both sets of 'rents for an extended weekend. It was somewhat of a mini Summer vacation, if only barely.

The main reason for the trip was my parent's wine bottling party. About 50 people crammed into a 2+ car garage full of wine, bottles, labels and tables. The assembly line was efficient (even if the foiling machine broke down a half-dozen times, as is the norm), and the lunch afterward was quite yummy. Our reward - a full case of vino to bring back to Illinois. Definitely worth the price of admission!

The other highlights included a trip to Carmel & Monterey, various knitting shops, hangin' time with the parents, visiting my step-father after his knee replacement surgery, and copious quantities of FOOD! Ugh... I'm still digesting Sunday night's dinner!
