What have I done?!

Everyone, please put your hands together and welcome Sydney.

She's a 3-month old Shiba Inu puppy, and is incredibly shy and a little shakey. She's managed to walk around a little bit and search the kitchen, but that's about it.

Oh, and within five minutes of being in the house she releived herself - not once, but twice - right on the kitchen rug. Methinks I know her favorite spot in the house.

Aww, very cute. Man, everyone I know is getting dogs recently. And coincidentally, they are all peeing on stuff.

The first in-house relief was a pee. The second releif was an incredibly healthy... umm... you know where I'm going with this.

Janine put it best when she said 'That stuff is noxious!'

Congratulations! Does she have a name yet? My friend has the same breed but a darker color. Her name is Casey(the dog). Is she coming home for Thanksgiving?

Of course Sydney will come with her travel blankie. All grandpuppies will even get their own Christmas stocking.
I think she looks like Todd the Fox in that Disney movie Fox and Hound. So cute!

Her name is Sydney (it was right above the picture). She's doing a lot better in the house, sleeps well at night, and hasn't messed in her kennel yet!

We're definitely bringing her out for Turkey Day. You can't ignore this amount of cuteness for too long.

No, they only get around 30-35 pounds. As a reference, Meatball was ~45. And yes, she is named after Sydney Bristow. We were trying to think of kick-butt girl names from shows we like, and that was better than Leela. The options before that were "Shia", "Musket", and "Twinkie". The last one fits because she's about that color and she's full of creamy filling.

Yeah, you've seen all that creamy filling on your carpet.

Welcome to the dog owners club!!! :) She is very cute. Now all you need is a dog park that's close for social time. Do they have those in Chicago?

There is a dog run in a nearby city (Libertyville) - it's about a 10-15 minute drive. I think we're going to wait until she has had a few more shots before we expose her to that many dogs.
