When is a new movie not new?

So it's official - Shaolin Soccer is officially in US Theaters. The bad news is that it's only in limited release and there are no thaters within 30 miles of Chicago showing the flick. The good news is that there is an awesome trailer up for viewing.

The thing I find funny and annoying is that this movie was released in 2001 in the Eastern market, but only now is making it to the US... in limited release, no less. Does anyone have a clue where this movie is showing?

UPDATE: One more reason to love IMDB.com is their US map locating the cinemas that are showing the movie. Anyone up for a trip to Oakmont, PA?

Ahh I remember seeing a trailer for it about a year ago and laughing as the soccer ball breaks the sound barrier. Ridiculous!

My favorite is when the ball turns into a running tiger. That just looks cool!

You mean... like Pennsylvania?

I know the movie itself has been out since 2002, but it wasn't fully released in the US. In fact, I heard that some original copies of the movie that were made available in the US had horrible subtitles and crappy quality. The new release, while I think it's dubbed and actually shorted by 20-30 minutes from the original, is supposed to be a little better.

I still wanna see it, though, and Blockbuster don't carry it!
