the SPRUE! the SPRUE!

I go in swings these days. I either have a very good day at work and come home all full of energy and ready to kick butt on the house, or I feel tired and sad and homesick and just sit around staring into my tea all night. Last night I went to the gym here at work, the first time I moved my butt in about eight months. It took me a good six months to feel at home in Bay City and I was miserable and a shut-in the whole time. This time I think I'm handling it better, even though it's a bigger change. I'm getting things done, actually avoiding television as much as possible, and really gritting my teeth and taking the time to meet people and make sure they know me. It's not as much fun, but I feel better about myself and already feel like more a part of the team than I did for a long time over in the old job.

Living with Austin is interesting. We dated for five years but never really lived together, and I'm surprised how different it is. I've had roommates before but we always had our own stuff and now we're sharing everything. He makes me feel like I'm losing my mind, since I *know* I set that pile of mail right there and now it's gone. I'm not crazy, I'm just trying to get settled into another routine. I've been making dinner a lot, something that seems to surprise and amaze him. Not that he doesn't cook, but he never really looks at cooking from a raw ingredients side of things. He can whip up a voila or bake a pizza, but show him a freezer full of chicken and green beans and he doesn't think it's worth the effort. And he likes to do the dishes, so that's working out nicely. I think the one thing we need to work on is leaving our work brains at work. No matter what your day was like at work, it's gotta be different once you're home in your safe zone. I don't think it quite feels like home yet, but it's getting there. We're still getting used to the whole "seeing each other for more than three days every two weeks" too.

Oh. Guess what we bought? Sadly, it's not scheduled to ship until October 11th.

You guys should go on a "house vacation" for a weekend, where you don't do any house stuff, and just relax. You know, even though I am a PC guy, the G5 seems pretty cool. And you're getting it shipped on my birthday! Yay present for you!

Although I don't think I can condone Mac usage, at least mom will have someone to call for tech support!! Bwhahaha.

She's already called us... numerous times. I feel sorry for anyone who's worked a help desk before.

On the house vacation note, I say we have an internet party this weekend, seeing that I got Comcast Internet set for a hookup this Saturday! About damn time, too!!!

Ahhhh....NICE! Mike loves this system. You guys earned major brownie points on his list. (Not that you didn't have any before)
