Day one

The Catholic rehearsal was today, we all met at the church at 5 after I had gotten my nails done in the morning and did some other last-minute errands. I was much more relaxed today, after almost killing Austin in the car yesterday. Don't ever spend ten hours in the car with someone two days before you get married, it's not good with stress levels already running high. But after a relaxing afternoon of looking for books for the plane ride and presents for parents, I felt pretty serene for the rehearsal. Deonna and Dad both cried, with Deonna's waterworks being so bad we gently teased her about it the rest of the weekend. Father Dave had a very in-depth rehearsal, although he was a bit "mean" to Deonna. She was already so obviously emotionally keyed up; it would have been a good idea to be gentler with her.

After that we headed back to Mom and Dad's for some shish kebobs and just a good hurrah. We drove out to the hotels to meet Austin's family; they hung out for maybe twenty minutes and then took off. We were left with Shawn and Deonna and we headed down the road to a Dave and Busters for some last few drinks and a "stripper in a can" from Shawn. Austin had trouble with the 1950's can opener, I'm hoping it's a sign of how he'd have trouble with other women. :) The girls and boys went back to their hotel rooms and just went to bed.
