Wow, so much has been going on lately and I haven't had a lot of time to fill in the details here.
The Job: I'm still waiting on the formal offer letter. I have a verbal offer, but no details in writing. My current boss is being pretty cool about being flexible with the start date, but my new boss over there is acting a little funny. She's okay with starting after the wedding, but she wants it to be kept confidential until just a week or two before I start, so nobody gets excited and then thinks "where the hell is she?" This is driving me nuts. From the staffers I talked to out there, they all thought it was a done deal. People here are asking me every hour on the hour, since everyone knew I had gone over for an interview. I hate lying to people, so my stock answer is a shrug and a "all the managers were all in a big meeting, I'm still waiting on an offer". They all know I'm heading out eventually, I don't see what the big deal is.
Houses: Austin and I looked at a bunch ths weekend. The kitchen I posted earlier is from our favorite one, a nice 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom place. It has no problems, and I like it since it's out apart from the other townhouses in the complex. The view is of some grass and a little street and a running path instead of the back of someone else's house. We definitely have a favorite subdivision, we're just working through some paperwork and trying to figure it all out. We were meeting with the realtor yesterday all day, and finally ended around 6 at night. By the time we got back to Austin's place in the city, it was almost 7:30 and driving home would get me there around 2, with me needing to wake up for work at 5:30. I elected to stay there, wake up at 1 am, and make the drive back this morning. I got in to work at 7:15, ran about doing my work for the morning meeting, and had it all set by 8:02. Just in time! Unfortunately, I am now ready to drop. Where's the coffee? It's not something I want to do on a regular basis, but it was important we get this set if we want to try and get a place by the wedding.
Wedding: The girls should be getting their dresses today, they looked so cool when I picked them up. They're much fancier than I thought they'd be and look quite classy. I took pictures of them in the bags and I'll try to post them later. Also, Bonnie sent me pictures of the shower! I'll try to get those up on austinandjanine.com asap, they turned out much better than the film cameras did.
Harry Potter: should be sitting on my front steps. What's the good of pre-ordering the book and having it delivered to your doorstep if you're not going to be there for three days? If I were evil, I'd take a sick day tomorrow and stay home to read the whole damn thing.
