A few weeks ago, there was a self-defense class they offered here at work. I thought it would be cool, so I went and had a pretty good time. At the end of the session, I asked the teacher for the name of some schools around here so I could try it out. I had my first Taekwondo class last night, and it was such a blast!

It was like organized rasslin' with Stevie and Raymond. I thought the whole thing would have a very serious, intense feel to it but it was great! We were laughing and joking around and I did my first ever real cartwheel! The pushups and situps at the beginning almost did me in, but I think I kept up pretty well for the rest of it. It's two hours every monday and wednesday, and I'm all about making this a regular thing I do. I had been looking for some new activity to run around with, this is a lot of fun. I'm incredibly sore today and my knees and elbows feel bruised. They look okay, though.

My new skills should come in handy, since it looks like the bridesmaid dresses are coming in later than we thought they would. We won't have them in time for the shower, but since nobody's going to be here to try them on it's no big loss. I'll just ship them to everyone when they get delivered instead of having Bonnie take some back to CA for me. The one thing that worries me is in case one of the dresses is messed up somehow or they send the wrong size. I've heard stories about the dress being labeled a size 6 but if you try it on it's something more like a 2, even according to their weird measurements. Right now they're scheduled to ship on June 2nd which means we'll get them sometime after that. The bridal store is double-checking on that date for me but I'm not hopeful.
Update : They're shipping on June 6th, arriving the 12/13th. Suck!
