Dang, I've got a lot of sewing ahead.

Hrm. I'm at once more pleased and less pleased with the final product. It's a lot harder to sew with no interfacing because it's not as thick and it doesn't want to glide around all those little tight corners. This first one took me about two hours, and even allowing for the fact that I'll get quicker, that's depressing. My one other beef is all of the little inside curves (like the web of your fingers) are bunched up, and other than snipping the seam allowance on the inside I don't know how to make those go away. They are much pointer, better looking leaves though. I'll get pictures of the setup tomorrow once I'm home from easter. I still need to sew the leaf veins on and slipstich the opening shut. Centerpiece count=1. Well, almost one.

I secure enough in my masculinity to hold a sewing needle or run a sewing machine. If it involves a sharp object piercing something else over and over again, I'm game!

I volunteer to...supervise.

I think I'll keep doing them without interfacing, but I'll save all the sewn, inside-out ones in a pile and let someone else help flipping them back right side out, poking out the points, and ironing. That's what took about a half-hour of the time.

When was the first? Any why are you counting?

The first was on her journal a few months ago. Why am I counting? I have no idea.
